The Sito is among the most extensive ceremonial practices performed at Pema Choling Gumba. A full one-day puja, it involves a large assembly of monks chanting from dawn until completion in the late afternoon or evening. The name refers to powerful protective and purifying practices within the Nyingma tradition.
While shorter pujas address specific concerns, the Sito is a complete ceremonial event—purification of past negativity, protection from future obstacles, merit accumulation, and positive conditions across life areas. It is often described as comprehensive spiritual housecleaning.
The day includes multiple tormas, a sand mandala offering, extensive mantra by the full assembly, and a concluding fire offering. Sponsor names and intentions are woven throughout.
The Sito is requested for major transitions—business, marriage, illness, bereavement—or as a periodic deep practice. The cost reflects full monastic engagement and extensive materials.
Purpose: Comprehensive purification, protection, merit.
Duration: Full day (dawn to evening).
